CMV is the most frequently diagnosed viral infection among solid organ transplant recipients. This webinar, co-sponsored by PASCV and the American Society for Transplantation, will feature three speakers to review pertinent aspects of CMV in transplant recipients.  Dr. Angela Caliendo will describe the current status of CMV diagnostic and provide a summary of future needs in the field.  Dr. Camille Kotton will discuss CMV treatment options and the challenges associated with CMV antiviral resistance.  To conclude, Dr. Raymund Razonable will provide an assessment of both current and future strategies for prevention of CMV disease. 

Upon completion of the webinar, the participant should be able to: 

  • Describe the currently available CMV diagnostic and antiviral resistance assays; 
  • Discuss CMV treatment options and the challenges associated with antiviral resistance; and
  • List current and future CMV prevention strategies.
