PASCV Latin America Meeting

The Pan-American Society for Clinical Virology (PASCV), in conjunction with the National Association of Clinical Laboratory Technologists of Panama (CONALAC), has organized, within the setting of the XXIV Latin American Congress of Clinical Biochemistry (COLABIOCLI), a prior scientific activity to take place on September 10-11, 2019, with the goal of reinforcing the technical and practical aspects of the diagnostic virology laboratory. This event is aimed at directors of clinical laboratories, laboratory technologists, physician trainees, and specialists in infectious diseases.

A day and a half of lectures by experts from the US and other Latin American countries includes general discussions related to organization and function of clinical virology laboratories, and specific talks on the diagnosis of bloodborne viruses, papilloma virus, and arboviruses, among others. Clinical case presentations will provide an opportunity for interactive discussion regarding diagnostic challenges routinely encountered when caring for patients with viral infections.

Participants will gain not only knowledge of fundamentals in clinical virology, but have a unique opportunity to interact and collaborate with colleagues in similar diagnostic settings throughout Latin America.

Simultaneous translation will be offered in both English and Spanish.
